Overview
The Athletic Bouldering 1 (White) is the first-ever all-white climbing shoe — a result of a unique collaboration between designer Boris Bidjan Saberi and climbing legend Fred Nicole. Built upon and adapted from a hand-shaped, downturned last created by Fred Nicole, this shoe combines high design with maximum performance in an incredibly soft, responsive form.

The Collaboration
Boris Bidjan Saberi, a climber for over 30 years, joined forces with Fred Nicole to merge technical precision and avant-garde design. Boris’ long-standing partnership with Salomon, which began in 2016, has led to the creation of high-end apparel, footwear, and packs under the 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi / Salomon Athletic Bouldering concept.

Half German and half Persian, Boris’ dual heritage profoundly shapes his creative philosophy — blending Western and Middle Eastern traditions, structured and formless design, and a passion for numerology.

Origin Story
Initially conceived as a one-off model for the 11 Athletic Bouldering Exhibit at Paris Fashion Week 2023, the Athletic Bouldering Climbing Shoe quickly became a house favorite. Due to overwhelming demand, it now returns — this time in an elegant white edition.
